The Gran Finale of WAIS 2012

In three days WAIS goes offline. This will be my last post from WAIS. I return to McMurdo Station Feb. 3 and shortly after fly to New Zealand where I start another journey across the globe. We're packing up quickly. The temperature is getting colder (-40 F)and the winds are picking up. Time to get out.

Since I don’t have many photos left from my collection I’ve decided to share August Allen’s. If you wish to use his photos in this post please contact me. His art shows the smiles of the WAISide story and the experiences we’ve shared. This has been an exceptionally smooth and productive season with the drill team reaching their final ice core depth in the Arch of 3405 meters. This has been an experience none of us will ever forget. Thank you August.
