Sea Ice Safety Training

To prepare for the Runway position I must go through truck, runway, and sea ice safety training. Truck training teaches you how to inspect and properly operate your vehicle, as well as obey the 25 mph speed limit and wear a seatbelt. Runway training teaches you how to be responsive to incomming/outgoing flights (c-17s, Helos, Hercules, c-130s, etc.), VHF radio use, and where the light-weight vehicle roads are at. Ice safety training is shown in these slides/photos. Click on them to zoom in.
